How We Hire

Straightforward, honest, and built around you.

We know that applying for a new job takes courage — and we don’t take that lightly. Our hiring process is designed to be as straightforward and human as possible. No unnecessary hoops, no ghosting, no surprises. We want to find the right person for the right role, and we want you to find the right home for your career. That works best when both sides are honest from the start.

The process, step by step

We keep things simple. Here’s what to expect from the moment you get in touch to the day you start.

Step 1 — Get in touch

Send us your CV however feels right. You can apply directly for a live role, or drop us a speculative CV if nothing fits right now but you like the look of the group. Email us, use the form, or just send a LinkedIn message — we’re flexible. What matters is that you reach out.

Step 2 — We review your application

Every application is read by a real person — not filtered by a keyword scanner. We’ll look at your experience, but we’ll also look at who you are and whether the role is genuinely a good fit. We aim to come back to every applicant within five working days.

Step 3 — Initial conversation

If there’s a potential fit, we’ll get in touch for an informal chat — usually a call or video call with someone from the team. This isn’t a formal interview. It’s a chance for us to find out a bit more about you, and for you to ask us anything you want to know. No trick questions, no pressure.

Step 4 — Interview

The interview stage varies depending on the role. Some positions involve a single interview, others involve a second conversation or a short practical element — we’ll always tell you exactly what to expect before you come in. Interviews are two-way: we’re assessing fit, and so are you. Come prepared with questions.

Step 5 — DISC profile

All candidates complete a DISC behavioural profile as part of our process. This isn’t a test you can pass or fail — there are no right or wrong answers and no profile that rules you out. We use it to understand how you work best, how you like to communicate, and how we can support you from day one. You’ll receive your results and we’ll talk through them with you. Head to our culture page for more on what DISC means at WDYG.

Step 6 — Offer

If we’d like to move forward, we’ll make you a clear, straightforward offer. We’ll talk you through the terms, answer any questions, and give you the time you need to make the right decision. No pressure, no artificial deadlines.

Step 7 — Welcome to the family

Once you’ve accepted, our onboarding process kicks in. You’ll know what to expect before your first day, who to ask for, and what the first few weeks will look like. We want day one to feel like a relief, not an ordeal.

When we bring someone into the group, we're not just filling a seat — we're adding to a family. That's why we take the time to get the process right. We want to know who you are, not just what's on your CV.

A few things worth knowing

We read every application

There’s no automated filtering here. A real person reads every CV that comes in — so it’s worth taking the time to write a covering note that tells us who you are and why you’re interested.

We’ll always tell you where you stand

We won’t leave you hanging. Whether the answer is yes, no, or not right now — we’ll let you know. We know how frustrating it is to apply somewhere and never hear back.

We hire for values as much as skills

Technical skills can be taught. The FAMILY values are harder to learn. We’re looking for people who are honest, take ownership, want to grow, and genuinely care about doing a good job. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

There’s no such thing as a perfect CV

Don’t let an imperfect CV stop you from getting in touch. If you think you could be a great fit, tell us why. We’d rather have that conversation than miss out on the right person.

Common questions about our process

We have complied a list of questions that are often asked about How We Hire and how it can help your business. If you can’t see the answer to a question you have, please contact us today!

It varies by role, but we aim to move quickly. From application to offer, most roles are filled within two to four weeks. We’ll always keep you updated on timescales.

Yes — if more than one role looks like a good fit, let us know. We’ll point you in the right direction.

Send us a speculative CV. We keep a record of strong candidates and come back to them when something suitable comes up. Good people are hard to find — we won’t forget you.

We’ll always aim to give meaningful feedback where we can. We know it’s valuable and we respect the time you’ve put in.

Smart casual. We’re not a suit-and-tie business — be yourself.
